From getting the best recommendations to strategizing on topics for those dreaded essays, you will learn about the importance of smart-storytelling, how to position your application, differentiate yourself, and grab the admissions committee's attention.

Bring your important questions to this forum and learn how to successfully manage and enhance your child’s college application.

Navigating the College Admission Process is being offered in-person on Thursday, September 22 at 5:30 PM. The program starts promptly, so we suggest arriving 15 to 20 minutes beforehand to complete the sign-in process and find a seat. 


Bio and background:

Ms. Gilbert is a clinical social worker and  25-year educational consultant and author helping students navigate college admissions. She is one of the senior founding managers of the Princeton Review Test Preparation Company, and the author of The Princeton Review Guide to the Best Business Schools and  Business School Essays that Made a Difference (Random House). Excerpts from The Princeton Review Guide to the Best Business Schools have appeared in a special edition of the Time Magazine/Princeton Review College Guide. 

Ms. Gilbert has been a guest contributor to Forbes Magazine on college and college life and authored several articles including 10 Tips for Living With a College Roommate, What To Do When Your Dream School Says, "I'm Not That Into You." and How to Learn More During the College Tour.'  Ms. Gilbert currently provides expertise and editorial content on educational issues around college and grad school for an Ed-Tech company called Noodle Education.

She is a frequent keynote speaker delivering two college programs: "How to File a Winning Application" and "Essays that Worked." She has also served as an alumni interviewer for University of Pennsylvania admissions and offers much-valued insider insights.  

As an expert on navigating college admissions, Ms. Gilbert has been sought out by top-ranked high schools as a private educational consultant to further guide students and their parents in the college admissions process. She has unique expertise in helping students with disabilities when applying to college, including securing testing accommodations. Ms. Gilbert’s background in social work is especially beneficial during the emotional process of completing a college application, helping to buffer the pressure of this high-stakes process.
