Join us Saturday, July 30th at 11am for an online discussion with Toluse Olorunnipa & Robert Samuels for a discussion of their new biography of George Floyd.
Toluse Olorunnipa & Robert Samuels, award-winning Washington Post reporters will discuss their new biography of George Floyd, His Name Is George Floyd: One Man's Life and the Struggle for Racial Justice.
Hosted by the Harvard Club of Research Triangle & the Harvard Black Alumni Society, Research Triangle, this promises to be a rich, introspective discussion, a Q&A on their book, careers and racial justice in America.
Excerpt from the New York Times review of the book:
"It is a testament to the power of His Name Is George Floyd that the book’s most vital moments come not after Floyd’s death, but in its intimate, unvarnished and scrupulous account of his life. The Washington Post journalists Robert Samuels and Toluse Olorunnipa, backed by hundreds of interviews along with extensive reporting by their colleagues, offer a brilliantly revealing portrait of the structures of poverty, land theft and racism that shaped not only Floyd but also his kinship networks in the South."
