NC Museum of Art: An Insider's Tour
Join us on Wednesday, August 19th, for an online tour of the NC Museum of Art's European Art collection with Michele Frederick, PhD, Associate Curator of European Art.
To help limit the spread of COVID-19 in North Carolina, the NCMA is closed until further notice--but that doesn't mean the HCRT can't make an online visit!
Join Michele Frederick, PhD, Associate Curator of European Art, for an introduction to and tour of the NCMA's European Art collection, including paintings by Dutch, Flemish, French, and British masters. In addition to outlining the current and future plans for European Art at the NCMA, Michele will give some behind the scenes insight into curating during the current COVID-19 pandemic. Audience participation is encouraged with a Q&A opportunity.
Dr. Frederick joined the NCMA in 2019. With her expertise in 16th- and 17th-century Northern European art, she focuses on adding to the NCMA’s European art collection, curating special exhibitions, and supporting the programming surrounding these works of art. She has worked with the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Cleveland Museum of Art, Cincinnati Art Museum, and Berea College, and conducted research on more than 40 collections throughout Europe and the United States. Frederick received a BA from Florida State University, an MA from Case Western University, and a doctorate in art history from the University of Delaware.
