Featured Shared Interest Group: Harvard Alumni for mental health
Harvard Alumni for Mental Health provides a forum for alumni interested in mental healthcare issues.
Harvard Alumni for Mental Health is a Harvard shared interest group aiming to connect alumni with an interest in mental health – whether personal or professional – and to create a network among them to support each other and current Harvard undergraduate and graduate students. HAMH also strives to open conversations about mental health through social media and its live events. Most recently, HAMH, along with Harvard Alumni for Fashion, Luxury, and Retail, co-hosted a virtual conversation on "The Positive and Negative Effects of Fashion and Image on Mental Health".
While HAMH is a national group, the president, Sreeja Kalapurakkel, is here in the Research Triangle. Ms. Kalapurakkel is currently working towards a master's degree in Global Health at Duke University. At Harvard College she was a Student Mental Health Liaison, a peer counselor for ECHO (Eating Concerns, Hotline, and Outreach), and a member of the newly founded Harvard Global Mental Health Coalition.
