SOLD OUT: Concert by Critically-Acclaimed Jazz Musician, Candice Hoyes '99 - 1/28 at 8 pm CAM Raleigh
Harvard Club has reserved a limited number of tables for this special performance.
North Carolina Opera celebrates the versatility of the human voice with the presentation of the critically-acclaimed On a Turquoise Cloud by jazz musician Candice Hoyes, Harvard '99. You can read more about Candice in her NPR interview.
Candice blends jazz, classical, and soul to create a singular style that "captures the graceful ambiance of Swan Lake and the broad emotion of Madame Butterfly mixed with lounge jazz coolness," says Joe Walker. Performed cabaret-style in the beautiful space of CAM Raleigh, On a Turquoise Cloud features new arrangements of rare songs spanning Duke Ellington’s career. Hoyes will be joined by Durham native and NCCU alum, pianist Chris Pattishall. Pattishall was recently named by Wynton Marsalis as one of the top five jazz musicians under 30 to watch.
