The MIT Club of RTP presents Marissa Heyl, who decided to use fashion to make a difference in people’s lives. Marissa will recount her journey from bootstrapping, working with artisans, and creating ethical clothing for the modern women who demand sensible fashion.

The evening will feature the story of Symbology Clothing, told by Marissa Heyl, the young entrepreneur and CEO of Symbology, a fashion label born out of UNC. Symbology is an ethical fashion label that fuses artisan textiles with fashion forward designs to bring authentic apparel to the boutique market. They bring a fresh perspective to centuries-old artistic traditions by interpreting them into a modern collection. Symbology envisions fashion as a platform to empower the poor, preserve traditional arts and connect women worldwide. For more details, please see Symbology’s website: http://symbologyclothing.com/.

Zayka is one of the most popular Indian restaurants in the Triangle. With an emphasis on sophisticated and creative Indian cuisine, the menu incorporates both traditional classic favourites and original new dishes that apply east-Asian flavours with a western twist. We have a private dining room reserved for this event. The buffet will include milder dishes for those who prefer them. Come join us for a unique evening of food and fashion!
