FAQ:

How many students will I interview?   As many as you choose. You can request to interview just a single applicant or a dozen.  Sadly, we always have applicants who end up not receiving interviews.

When does this happen? Most interviewers will receive between zero and two early applicants in the fall. The majority of the applicants will be interviewed between January and March.

Will I need to travel to meet the student?  No. This year you can choose to interview candidates either in-person or online.

What does the process involve?  Interviews are assigned, and reports submitted, via an on-line system that makes the logistical process easy.

How long does an interview last? Most interviews run about 45 minutes.  It will then take about half an hour to write up your interview report.

Who can become an alumni interviewer?  To access the Portal and be eligible to interview, you must hold a degree from Harvard University. Graduates of Harvard College are especially helpful. Those holding a PhD, MD, JD, or MBA from Harvard are also welcome to interview. Please note that you must live in our region, from Hillsborough to the Outer Banks.  [Certificates received from leadership, executive education, or management programs are not considered University degrees and therefore do not allow the recipient to participate in the Harvard College Interviewing Program.]
