Groundwork Labs is an accelerator located at the American Underground.  It provides a community for selected entrepreneurs to test their idea and get expert guidance before they take their next step, whether that be getting their first round of funding, gaining admission to an accelerator, or bootstrapping their company to revenue.

Physcient - CEO and Co-Founder: Hugh Crenshaw: Physcient has created a device, the Differential Dissector, that is the first modern instrument designed specifically for blunt dissection in order to automatically differentiate between tissue types, dissecting only the desired tissues. Physcient has successfully raised rounds of funding and participating investors include IDEA Fund Partners, located in the American Underground.

 

FokusLabs - Founder: Rich Brancaccio: FokusLabs has created the RE-Vibe, an arm band that provides a vibration reminder to help kids stay focused without relying on parents or teachers to remind them. FokusLabs recently received funding from The Launch Place, an entrepreneurship development service based in Danville, VA. FokusLabs is a Groundwork Labs graduate.

 

iScribes - Co-Founder: David Meisner: iScribes provides virtual scribes to specialty providers in order to simplify the scribing process for medical record-keeping. iScribes is currently bootstrapping their efforts and is a Groundwork Labs graduate.
